Why do you think college basketball players are more competitive than the NBA players?

I've noticed they play harder in college than the NBA
why is this? I mean Im not saying NBA players don't play hard and they are obviously more talented but it just seems NBA players get lazy throught the game and that's why you always see teams blowing big leads
it's like the coaches say "no don't play intense defence or push the ball hard up the court" idk maybe because the rules are tougher
